Think of it like this:
When the trophy/achievements lists are submitted they are written (and live) on Sony/MS databases now, lets say 60 trophies/achievements.
The developers have coded the trigger points within the game (this is why some are "buggy"). The developers have the ability to change/correct those points and push THEIR new code live, this is fine and this is why editing what pops the trophy is the usual fix in these cases.
Think of it like READ/EDIT/DELETE access...We all have READ access(your dashboard, psnprofiles, trueachievements etc just poll the servers)...the developers have READ/EDIT....but they cannot DELETE what is written to the trophy/achievement tables on the Sony/MS database. No one can and no one should be able to. There are means to go about tricking the system (see old x360 profiles with no time stamps or steam in general) but this employs using a client side trigger to then get written server side. The actual server side databases are different.
So, that 60 trophies can never become 59...when you've seen any previous trophy fixes or changed they are just EDITING one of the elements that was already submitted and now part of the database.
The reason I pointed this out to begin with is that on the off chance EA/Codemasters do give a response there may only be a slim chance or one shot at getting a meaningful reply. So, like above.. asking for the trophy to be edited and asking for it to be deleted are two very different things. One is 100% possible, the other 0% possible.
