Just watching sky sports f1 podcast. There was a bit where Ted Kravitz. With a very knowing look/smile on his face hinted towards Aston Martin being second best team initially. 🤷♂️

I don't know. I still think Ferrari will be up there second best with Mercedes third but Aston will be close. Ferrari did seem to be testing extreme set ups so looked really out of whack on occasions. Mercedes seem to be gloomy but Shovlin said it's not as bad as it seems because they were looking for consistent aerodynamic data rather to setup for the whole season, hence the huge draggy rear wing and being slowest in the speed trap.
De La Rosa did sound very confident on the F1 podcast though but it does sound promising for Aston Martin. And Alpine shouldn't be discounted from being closer to the top three too.

@Meza994I'm only going by what Shovlin said in his tech talk with Sky/Kravitz.When the concept is far from what everybody else is doing, it seems only Mercedes know what is really going on. Personally I hope they sort it out because a three (or four) manufacturer battle is far more interesting. I do believe that we may get more excitement from the midfield battle as the pecking order has shifted and RB will run off with both titles.
@TotosHeadphones Of course, i didnt say they will be far behind but im just laughing every time i see a Merc fan argue that Merc are clear fastest because of the different wing they will use.. Might very well be Merc are very close to RB, we will only know after qualifying..

In defence of Daddy Stroll, he's definitively putting his money where his mouth is. With all the facilities upgrades and poaching of staff, they're making a good go of it.
