What the game should learn from pre-season testing

So this is what i think the characteristics of the cars should be in F1 23 by what we saw in pre-season testing..

Red Bull - very stable and balanced, considering what the car physics were in the 22 game (97.5 front + 98 rear) it should be balanced in 23 (100/100)opposed to the slightly understeery 22

Ferrari - also quite stable and balanced but ever so slightly oversteery which the car physics were in the 22 game so it can be same as RB (100/100) in F1 23

Mercedes - its a difficult one as they seem to have a lot of oversteer at higher fuel level and using harder tires, in 22 they were fairly stable so it should rather be 100 front 98.5 rear, taken that Merc werent faking it all which isnt impossible😂

Alpine - they seemed to have quite a few ride problems supposedly coming from the stiffness, now that cant be properly replicated so a certain oversteery aero balance like 100 front 99 rear would probably do it

McLaren - sadly they didnt get much running in so its tough to gauge their car but id say its fairly balanced, not too understeery nor oversteery so similar to Red Bull so 100 front 100 rear

Alfa Romeo - they seemed ever so slightly oversteery and twitching on the power, dont know the car physics of 22 well but on the basis that its balanced 23 would do with 100 front 99.5 rear

Aston Martin - from what i saw they were very stable but maybe a little understeery so 99.5 front and 100 rear would do just fine maybe only 99 front though..

Haas - another very stable car but balanced from what i saw so 100/100

Alpha Tauri - didnt see much of them, a bit oversteery? 100/99.5

Williams  - seemed also a little understeery yet stable which might just be low cornering speeds again😂 but for now id say 100/100

These numbers are of course not saying they should all have the same downforce but we can only start to guess on the exact numbers starting after the first races but the front to rear ratio should be something like that.

In terms of the tyres the game will never be able to replicate the grip gaps etc. 100% accurately as even Pirelli are just guessing but from my estimation it should be something like this

Tyres            Perfect temp window              Tyre Grip

C5                        82 - 88°                                    100%

C4                        92 - 98°                                    98.4%

C3                      102 - 108°                                  96.8%

C2                       112 - 118°                                   95.2%

C1                       122 - 128°                                   93.6%

C0                      132 - 138°                                   91.0%

Even though Mario Isola said the gap between C2 and C3 was over a second i doubt it will be like that on all tracks as in 2022 the gap between C2 and C3 was on average 0.5s and the compounds didnt majorly change.. The exact tyre temp windows are of course just total guesswork but from what i saw in 2022 this seems like something that would be okay and good for the game..

With (fairly) equal heating of the tyre surfaces but higher heating from brake to carcass and surface to carcass and vice versa it would be a quite realistic challenge but require AI training to not just always have perfect temps while the player needs to adjust the tyre pressure to get the temps right (which might end up giving the player less grip).. Of course each compound needs individual pressure set..

And finally we just need pre-season testing in the game..

The options for R&D it opens up are huge, getting R&D points, finding out setups and tyre pressures working for each kind of tyre (at least somewhat) without having to fear engine wear of using tyres you wanna use later, making the player do certain test runs (equal speed, no kerbs runs with aero sensor racks etc.) do find out what your actual car stats are and what you can improve via R&D. If you are not testing where your aero is at you dont know what to develop IRL..

This doesnt even need to much AI training compared to other things the game requires and is asked for since like forever😂
