I agree with @Ultrasonic_77 that in the time the auto gears problem has existed is sufficient time to learn auto gears and could have been a good time to drop an assist.
i did learn manual gears on a wheel, but recently tried using controller, as so many people were complaining about no feedback. And was surprised with how easy it was to do manual on a controller.
I understand it’s not for everyone and should hopefully be fixed soon.
@ajobling1983 If a person had paddles manuel gears wouldnt be a problem.
Mild arthritis in my fingers keep me from even thinking about it and because of this I have to move my whole hand to shift so I have to pull my finger OFF the throttle trigger.....this does not work.
