Where should a newcomer team be finishing?

Hi All,

New here, trying to find some help.

Struggling to understand where I should be finishing and the AI really isn’t helping with consistency.

I am racing in career mode as a newcomer team but I’m finishing way ahead of my teammate - should I always be benchmarking against him? Or should I be looking a teams without similar R&D status? I’m keen to maintain a “realistic” status but don’t know where to be!

AI is a nightmare with this too though. I’ll be very close one race, miles ahead or way off in others and sometimes vary between quali and the race.

What’s going on? Why can’t EA create a practice programme that takes averages of lap times to recommend an AI difficulty for each race? I’m currently stuck in endless loops of doing time trials at a track then using online calculators to guess where to pitch the AI so I’m not way off?

Does anyone else struggle with this?

Thanks in advance.

  • Between 14-20…. With the occasional points score… shouldn’t think about scoring point until your second season for the proper experience.  Setting the ai right helps the game and you won’t encounter odd behaviour from the game as much.

Manx lower your car is ranked the less is expected off you. So keeping it as one off the bottom teams in the first season in always goods… I’ve posted hints a tips my thread on here that’s is worth reading

  • @ScrumpyD Yes, you should be benchmarking against your teammate, preferably within +/- 0.3 seconds of him. The practice programs are unbalanced at the moment and overly difficult, if you adjust to them, you make the races too easy.

Still try the programs (or quick practice them), if you pass, great, if you don't first time, move on to the next one. Don't let them rule the game, the important thing is a fun racing experience.

@ScarDuck14 Unless you put your career settings as reduced and the Ai’s increased you will likely nearly always finish in a points position in the last half of the season

@SomaticCoast375  not if your really bad😀. In last years game Id finish in the  top 3 ranked team.  By doing every practice session.  And having 900 hours and many my team careers under my belt knew when and how to best upgrade my car.  Getting maximum value.

What I’m saying is you shouldn’t expect to be scoring regular points until second season didn’t say you can’t.
