The problems with F1 22 are endless. On launch day, I started a My Team career, after I closed the app it took me 4 days to be able to load back in to it without the game crashing to desktop. Now I've actually managed to get back in, I have to suffer the atrocious AI, the handling which genuinely feels like the F2 cars from previous games, impossible practice programme objectives and frame rate drops.
The AI, I have played the last 3-4 titles on 102 AI, this year, the AI is so overpowered it's ridiculous. They've always been OP out of low speed traction corners (Canada T6 & 7, the Loop at Silverstone for example), but it's a whole new level this year. If it rains? Game over. They put the traction down and don't break traction once. I gradually lowered the AI difficulty from 102 to 91 for Miami and qualified P7 comfortably in the 4th fastest car and so I thought I'd found the right balance, then I get to the race and the AI are over a second a lap faster than me consistently. No tyre-temp or deg issues, just pure pace. On top of the traction issue, they seem to constantly have battery to run overtake permanently. Then when they do inevitably get close to you, they dive bomb you late, lock up and smash in to the side of you.
Couple the AI being OP with the woeful handling model, the rear wing seemingly not existing - so much so that you have to run twice the wing angle you usually would (makes races fun with the AI being so OP in a straight line), the brakes seemingly being made of milk bottle tops regardless of pressure/ratio - and to make it even worse I play on a game pad (PS4), and the input delay for controllers on this game is biblical. It's borderline unplayable. Without 20 or more flashbacks I have no chance of finishing a race. That has never been the case, even when I first started playing F1 games (F1 2010).
I haven't enjoyed this game so far, and unless the above issues get balanced I will be uninstalling.
