Hi everyone,
Thank you for the feedback on this! I'll pass this along.

Nice, this is important, the tire compound selection screen is merely illustrative, it is necessary to enable it so that the drivers can choose the tire sets.

@EA_Kent
this correction unfortunately didn't come in the 1.06 patch, is there any prediction to fix this? It's a real F1 rule, it doesn't make sense to have only 1 set of hard tires and 1 set of medium tires for the race, it limits the race strategy a lot.
Yeah, even though I wouldn't expect for it to come at this patch, it's nice to reaffirm it is a necessity to have a way to pick compounds for the race in a better way than it is now.

As a avid 100% MyTeam player this is bothering me too, that we are forced to give away 2 of 3 Mediums and 1 of 2 Hards in Practice sessions leaving us with 4S, 1M, 1H for Qualy/Race.
I would much rather have the option to change how tyres are allocated for the weekend through the unused weekend allocation screen, letting us select which tyres we use/giveaway in Practice and which we keep for Qualy/Race.
Because Yes, while the current rules demand that all teams are supplied with same amount of tyres, the teams still get to choose HOW they use those tyres over the span of the weekend. And being locked to 1 preset for practice tyres is just outright dumb when you compare it how it is in real life.
Im already outright annoyed by the constant 3 stop strategies of 3S + 1M/H on high deg circuits
I will be surprised if Codies actually end up patching this up to match the real life weekend tyre rules - 3 years ago
Is there a possibility that this will be fixed in the next patch? It's really frustrating while playing My Team when the tyre choice in race is so limited.
If this thread has made it to page 22 and it's not already fixed, then it will not be fixed.
- 3 years ago@SSR-zampa Yep. The only way they will fix this is if we spam the forum, forcing them to respond, like people do on fifa (sadly), but that will result in multiple bans.
Do we have any update on this at all? Its been 3 weeks and its almost a game breaking strategy error, especially in 25% and 50% races.
Can you help us at all @BarryBL ??
Yeah I've noticed this too - I only ever have one set of mediums in the race (not even another used set) - and if you make it to Q3, you only have a used set of softs, one medium and one hard. Literally gives you zero flexibility whatsoever so I'm having to run hards in every single race rather than S M M. Really frustrating as I've tried not to use the mediums in practice and yet I can only have ONE in the 100 percent race!
Its not in 1.07 as far i can see. That's a same. If you watched Hungary GP sunday, majority of drivers used 2 sets of mediums because it was clearly fastest strategy. In game we dont have a choice... Give us an update at least EA @EA_rephii @DavidG53
- 3 years ago@EA_Kent Did you get any feedback for passing this along to the dev team? Are they working on it? Don’t want to know a date but would be great to know if this is considered for one of the next patches.
There are a lot of „me too“ here in the initial post and it seems that this is a bug a lot of people would appreciate if this is fixed. - 3 years ago@EA_Kent Do we have any news on this? As I play 100% racing, this is being very harmful in terms of strategies. We need this fixed, we've had the game released for a long time and so far it's not even on the list of items being investigated yet.

Have EA/CM even acknowledged this thread?
- 3 years ago@jimbosupernova Yep, look on 2nd page. @EA_Kent has respond it, but no updates since then. As many of you saying: its game breaking and takes away a lot of fun (and realism) playing 50% 100% races in career.

The tire rules are pretty clear on what teams / cars are required to do. I don't see a big issue for weekends with sprint qualifiers, but for weekends without a sprint:
- Each team / car gets 2 sets of hards, 3 sets of mediums, and 8 sets of softs;
- They have to go into Q3 with a set of softs and into the Sunday race with a set of mediums and a set of hards; and
- They have to return 6 of the 13 sets by the end of P3.
Put these rules together and that leaves a choice of four tires going into Q1 and available for Sunday which are up to the team / car. If a team wants to go into qualifying / race with 3 sets of mediums, 2 sets of hards and 2 sets of softs then that's their prerogative, sub-optimal, but still their prerogative.
It looks to me like Codies is operating under the mistaken impression that only softs may be used in qualifying and that this means teams must take all softs as their four option sets. This just isn't the case.
I believe an adequate fix to this would be to give the player the option of moving a set of hards or a set of mediums into the 'suggested for Q1' in exchange for returning a set of softs after P3, or at the very least an option of taking an extra set of mediums into the weekends (the better 2 stop strategy is often soft-medium-medium, I don't think running 2 sets of hards ever makes sense in the game).

@CM_TGK @jenny_a_m @EA_rephii When will you update this issue on https://answers.ea.com/t5/Updates/F1-22-Community-Raised-Issues/m-p/11640498#M9
When will this problem be solved?- 3 years ago
It would be great to at least know if it will be aknowledge as a bug or WAD once and for all

On previous F1 games from 2016 to 2019,players could pick from a selection of 3 tyre allocations per race weekend. Only difference was, there was only the stipulation that at least 1 of each compound was picked for a race week.
Now, in regards to the current issue with tyres on 22, there is a solution EA/ codemasters could implement on one of the next patches to come out. There are 3 tyre allocations to pick from, like 2016, to 2019, but the way to work the compounds would be to have allocation 1 with all softs for qualy, allocation 2 would have 1 less set of softs replaced by mediums allowing 2 mediums for the race, and allocation 3 would be to replace a set of softs with hards allowing 2 hards for the race. At least this way, it wouldn’t involve a complete rewrite of the game code to enable free use of the compounds available. It wouldn’t be a perfect solution, but it would be 100 times better than the farce we’ve currently got.

@gusticlescaukJust going to bump this because it's really a rather annoying issue and maybe we'll eventually get a response that this is actually being looked into.
The game defaults to reserving 5 sets of Softs for qualifying, and then a Medium and a Hard for the race. This forces that the 6 sets you give back must contain the rest of your mediums. IRL teams strategically choose not to run a set of MD's during practice and doing qualifying laps on used Softs all the time. Would love the same flexibility in the game. The game needs patched to "un-reserve" 4 sets of Softs (1 set still reserved for Q3) and then provide a menu/screen after FP3 that requires you to select 6 tires sets YOU want to return. If you don't save enough Softs for qualifying too bad, you'll learn for the next race.

It's game breaker for 50% and 100% races, since it takes the whole strategy fun away 😔
Lots of people have stopped playing My Team/Career mode until this issue is solved

I tried create new similar topic, so maybe EA notice again. This is the hottest topic in this forum and EA see nothing.
this game engine was created back in 2015 it is outdated and broken quit trying to fix with bandaids and create new game engine already please look at the game as a whole and its clearly very broken game engine every year soooo many game breaking bugs that never get fixed and just carried over from years prior because all CM does is copy and paste without actually fixing anything PLEASE PULL CM LICENSING FOR F1 FIA and let another gaming company give it a try since codemasters obviously dont care about their product enough to fix ANYTHING
- pawel5673 years agoNew Ace@CharlyM32 Maybe they will fix it in the next edition in F1 23 (ehh that's a bad consolation)

Hi everyone,
I apologize for the lack of a response on this.
I'm afraid I don't have any updates to share at the moment, but I have continued passing this feedback along. I will continue to do so as we see it. If I hear back with any news on this I'll let you know.
