Considering that in the 2023 season, there will be a test, in 2 Grand Prix, of a revised qualification format, with a different tyre allocation, it's obvious some work needs to be done in this area:
- A correct (IRL) tyre allocation based on the event and its format (normal, with sprint race, RQF).
- The ability to choose which tyre we want to return after each session.
- Mandatory tyres, wet weather condition, ... should be taken into account.
It's not rocket science, the F1 regulations are easy to find, with detailed description of how it works.
It should not be hard to add a few ifs in the code to choose the correct allocation for each Grand Prix.
It should not be hard to handle mouse clicks on the tyres to select the ones we want to return and to add some visual feedback to let us know it worked.
- 3 years ago@Turshek Completely agree for 2023 game onwards. But for 2022, I’d happily take the allocation from 2021 whilst EA and CM work out how to implement free tyre choice out the allocation

@gusticlescauk oh, I completely agree.
Getting back the allocation we had in F1 2021 as a "temporary fix" would be great.
It was not a problem to complete programs during practices with only one set of medium and we had the choice to carry a medium set from qualification to the race to do strategies like S M M.
I just wanted to point out that this problem won't go away, it will just get worse.
For a licensed product, it should be mandatory to follow what happens IRL and it should be the priority to do these kind of changes over new fluff "features".- 3 years ago
Still not fixed in 1.09 😢
