Forum Discussion
Has there been any form of discussion on this or is it that we are misunderstanding the rules or something like that?
Thanks again
We’ve had 2, yes only 2, replies from the EA/ CM team regarding this.
Even direct messaging each admin hasn’t worked either.

They prefer to ban people instead of communicating with us properly.
I would now already 4 times banned. this is really a scandal - 3 years ago
I would accept: "We are sorry but in this game it is not possible." But no they are hiding and saying nothing and adding useless bug to known issues like practice program or sponsor logos

Short answer: no.
Long answer: hell no.
The difference between the amount of fks given by CM/EA (less than zero) and the passion another unnamed game developer put in their game (despite not being perfect) is astonishing, really.
I really don't think I'm going to buy F1 23 by how CM/EA is behaving lately. - 3 years ago
The main issue for me, is the lack of professionalism and courtesy to actually communicate with us properly and more frequently than just ‘our devs are aware of the issue’ type answers.
In regards to the tyre allocations, it’s hugely irritating that smaller bugs and issues are the main focus when it comes to patch releases. The 2022 tyre allocation is a HUGE issue, one that EA and CM need to rectify. Why you felt the need to swap a set of softs for mediums out the qualy and FP allocations is, quite honestly, baffling.

The community managers have other things to do. And that is to ban people who rightly criticize. I've been banned 4 times now because of this. It's just a joke what the community managers are doing. - 3 years ago
Yep. They have blocked me from making new bug reports because I dared to raise a couple of bug reports on tyre allocation and race strategies.
playing f1 manager now. Much more enjoyable and I have a feeling they will actually fix the bugs quickly and efficiently.

@EA_Ant could you take a look at this issue?

Yes, I think it's an absolute outrage what the community managers are doing to us.
But hear from everyone who plays F1 Manager 2022 it is much better than F1 22. What I just find funny. They get it better to program things. As a billion dollar company. And the best thing is F1 Manager 2022 is their first sports game.I thought after F1 2021 it couldn't get any worse but as we all see F1 22 is just as much of a disaster.

I’m appalled that they blocked you for raising them. Did you ever have a similar issue on CM’s forum?
I partly think it could be where the 2 gaming studios have merged, and the organisational structure isn’t setup properly yet.
EA should of left the F1 franchise alone. For years CM had the sole rights to it, and they made some amazing F1 games WITHOUT any input from EA. As soon as EA started to have an input, more and more things have gone wrong with the F1 franchise.

I would also already banned several times in the Old Forum, because I probably do not let go. and thus pull others with. I pass already on no one to insult etc. But if I do not even hear from the community manager what, what should I do? I just do not let go when I do not like what. Then I say that too. I even want to help Codemasters. But they never listen to me. The ban me rather

Man, I can't believe the game has been out for two months (almost a quarter of its life cycle!), and this still hasn't been addressed. I get that they probably can't revamp the game UI post-release to fully reflect the tire allocation/return rules, but even an option to pick an allocation resembling F1 2021's would be fine. In F1 2020 and earlier, you know how you could pick Harder, Softer, or Balanced presets? Yeah, do that here, but just with the current preset and one that swaps a medium and a soft.
I'm in software development myself so I know that in practice, solutions are never as simple as they sound, but come on...it's a core aspect of gameplay that's basically broken. Are they EVER going to address this, or just sit on it for an entire year?
- 3 years ago@OatmealB0wl Well said, sir
They will not fix this. That's why its 14 pages long and zero response. It's the same every year, we find game breaking issues with the game and are then ignored because the codemasters development team and the F1 game itself are not good enough. Were running on a game engine that is 8 years old and that was broken from the start.

We have to be patient because that's all we have left

@Ultrasonic_77 Do you have any hope for us of getting it right?

I know as much as you I'm afraid. I don't know why the game apparently doesn't mirror real F1 and naively it doesn't feel like it should be a major issue to fix.

If you do just a tiny bit of digging you'll find that F1 Manager 22 has plenty of bugs of its own, including actually plenty of complaints re. the effect (or lack of) of different tyre compounds. I'm also aware that thousands of PC players can't get the game to even open. Whether or not another game has problems doesn't really make any difference to whether issues with F1 22 should be addressed or not though.
Edit: F1 Manager 22 Tyre performance discussion for context: Wets performing better than Softs on a dry track (0mm) : F1Manager (reddit.com)
- 3 years ago@Ultrasonic_77 Very true, F1 Manager has some big problems that need addressing.
The difference is that within this first week (including early access) the devs already said they are investigating and working on fixes, mentioning the lack of tyre difference specifically, among the other issues.
What have we got here so far? - Ultrasonic_773 years agoHero

What have we got here so far?Only time will tell how support for F1 Manager 22 pans out. As for F1 22 there have obviously been multiple patches addressing some issues, but to get back on topic importantly not the one this thread is about.
@Ultrasonic_77I agree with you. I will trust F1 Manager support when they actually fix the problems of the game. But at least they didn't absolutely and utterly ignore us like CM/EA is doing right here.
Yes, there have been a few patches for F1 22 but, save from the AI straight line speed, in my personal opinion they mostly focused on minor things that didn't necessarily make the game "near unplayable" or that crippled HUGE parts of what the game should be about (like tyre strategy, the topic of this post) and often created more bugs than they solved, often of significant importance for a large slice of the playerbase (rev limiter after traction fix) and that took several other weeks to fix (for those bugs that have actually been fixed), while ignoring huge problems like the topic of this post and many other unrelated game breaking bugs.
This thread talks about an issue that basically halves the content of any race above 25% length, save from unrelated events like rain.
That being said, I have a tiny bit of experience working on Unreal Engine. Making some minor changes to the UI with some coding in the back-end to turn a soft set into a medium or adding one extra set is not that hard, especially if you're supposed to do that for a living.I also realize that there are consequences to changing a tyre, like AI training and other possible ramifications, but it would still be a starting point to make the game more enjoyable/realistic. And considering they haven't even given us one single reason for ignoring us, I don't feel like excusing them whatsoever.
If the engine they're using makes it hard to do is not a paying customer problem, and it's surely not an excuse for ignoring the issue and ignoring us like they're doing. It's simply unacceptable.
Last thing. I realize I used some strong terms in this post. I just want to specify that they're obviously not referred to you directly. Just ranting a bit and throwing my two cents out there. - 3 years ago
My main problem now is simply that the support here is a disaster. We are constantly ignored. They would rather ban us than communicate with us properly. Really so that makes really no more fun. Every time there are only problems with EA
- Ultrasonic_773 years agoHero
I'm not going to respond to the last two posts here as this thread really should just focus on the specific tyre bug. The General Discussion section section would be the best place to talk about wider issues.

Yes, of course, I thought so too, but. The Commuinity managers have then quickly deleted the post 🙂
