[Xbox] Wheel issues -- crashing, long load times, no input

This problem has just happened recently, but for some reason, the load times on the xbox one have significantly increased. My G920 has also glitched out on this game, it works great in the menus, but anytime I load up a race or time trial or anything, it then stops working in game, but works fine in the menus. Oddly it seems to take a frame of input and then ignore everything else after the first input. really weird.

The game also seems to be perpetually saving as well.

Load times where fine when I booted the game up with the controller, so it seems that the wheel is having some sort of effect on the game, if thats even possible.

I have tested the buttons, and it appears as though the LB button on the wheel is being pressed all the time, even though the G920 doesn't have an LB? The LSB and RSB have never worked on this wheel so it can't be that.

The wheel works fine on every other game with no issues. I've tried uninstalling the game and reinstalling the game and it did nothing to fix the issue.

Game is unplayable, is it due to a bug or tech issue between the wheel and the game? it was working fine two days ago. havent seen a thread on this issue so decided to make one. If anyone has any idea what to do, it would be very appreciated.

    @ControlGriever Hello, I have the same problem on my G920 and F1 22/21. In 19/20 F1 games, this is not a problem. I tried your solution, but it doesn't work for me. Do you have any other ideas?

    Hi all,

    My son has started having issues with the Trustmaster 458 Spider steering wheel.  It worked fine for a while but now doesn't respond to any steering commands.  the buttons seem work OK during the setup process and the pedals work occasionally.

    The wheel and pedals all work OK with other driving games (Forza etc).  The Xbox picks up the steering wheel, its only F1 22.  As I say it did work for about a week, but now has stopped.  

    The game is also really slow to load. We have uninstalled the game a number of times, but has not fixed the issue.

    Has anyone else seen this issue?

    I think the problem Is the Xbox. Because on any other F1 games (F1 2020 and before), My logitech works. But with the game F1 2021 and F1 22, that are New Gen games (Xbox series) dosen't works. So I think it's the Generation the problem. I hope they'll fix that bug.

    Thrustmaster 458 Spider Wheel not working when connected to Xbox and is causing the game to take ages to load up

    Yes this is what I am getting aswell,  there are no firmware updates for this wheel either.

    Please help EA, my 12 year old son is gutted!

    So i've just played with the wheel whilst my son was at school, and noticed something, if I go into the setup of the wheel in the game, you get the correct reponse when you go into the test section, you get a response to the wheel turning, throttle, break etc, but as soon as you go to a race, nothing responds.

    Same with me, game has become really slow to load up and only the first command (such as hold clutch) is received in a race or lap. This is also a thing on f1 2021 now and has been for nearly 2 weeks now. Can’t believe I payed £80 for a game I got to play for a few months which now doesn’t work with my wheel

    Yep, same for me, F1 21 and 22 are now screwed, my son is gutted,  wondering if thrustmaster can update drivers over xbox network or something, although I don; tget why it works during setup, but not in the game.

    I've even competely reset the xbox back to factory defaults and re-installed, still doesn't work.

    Please EA respond, you have a 12 year old who doesn't think EA are a very good games developer now!

    Same problem with mine, been waiting a few weeks now and it’s a slow start up but does load, then once I load a track and start the race it doesn’t work at all and also makes my Xbox run slow
