I too am experiencing this issue. Summarised my issues below. Several friends who I league race with are also experiencing the same issue.
Product: F1 2022
Platform: Xbox One S
Summarize your bug:
When attempting to load the game from the Xbox dashboard, the game will sit on the title screen for several minutes before either:
- Crashing to dashboard.
- Freezing indefinitely.
- Crashing the Xbox.
This bug only occurs when my Logitech G920 racing wheel is connected to the Xbox. The game will load up fine if it's unplugged. The wheel's buttons work absolutely fine when browsing the Xbox dashboard prior to attempting to start the game, but once the game is booted none of the buttons on the wheel respond. Even the Xbox button doesn't bring up the sidebar menu.
I have reset the Xbox, un-installed and re-installed the game, checked all the ports are clear and checked all wire connections, tried the game offline, cleared the Xbox cache. Nothing is making a difference.
I understand this could be an Xbox USB porting issue rather than the game itself as it's only affected when the wheel is connected. There was also a recent Xbox firmware update.
Which area is the bug/glitch in? Loading the game / playing the game.
How often does the bug occur? Every time I attempt to load the game.
Did you have cross-play enabled? I did the last time I played. (Tuesday 18th October).
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Attempt to run the game using a Logitech G920 on Xbox One S.
What happens when the bug occurs? Game fails to load / freezes / crashes.
What do you expect to see? As I state above, this may not be an EA / Codemasters issue. It could well be an Xbox issue. But I would presume EA / Codemasters have contacts at Microsoft who they can flag the issues with, speak to, and work alongside to resolve the issue as a matter of urgency.
