Career mode keeps crashing - unable to play FC 25

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? It seems to be specific to my career mode, but I have seen others elsewhere complaining about the same issue.
What happens when the bug occurs? I’m in my third season in the January transfer window and the game keeps crashing whenever it ticks over to a specific date (Jan 5th). I’ve tried saving onto a different file, simming further ahead, recalling all my scouts, joining a different club but nothing works. I suspect it might be caused by the transfer cutscene for one of my players joining another club on loan. Annoyingly, there is nothing I can do to stop the deal from going ahead because I have already accepted the offer. Is there a fix or is my save just ruined? Really don’t want to lose all my progress due to a stupid bug and have to start again. I'm playing FC 25 on Xbox Series S if that helps.
What should be happening instead? The game should advance as normal.
