In Rivals, after I find an opponent, the screen goes completely black, with no chance to do anything. When the game starts up and you can play (which is rare this year) the same thing often happens at the start of the second half.
It's a shame to release a 100€ game in these conditions, but nobody does anything and everything is fine...

I've had a whole host of random issues when it comes to Ultimate Team. Mainly Rivals and Champs Qualifiers. A few different things happen, all with a similar result in the end.
- Game freezes during the intro cinematic, continues playing and then disconnects.
- Black screen after a match has been found which results in having to restart the application and counts as a loss.
- Game starts but freezes after about one in game minute and the disconnects.
This has been happening since launch and as you can imagine it is extremely frustrating. I'm afraid to actually do my Champs qualifiers as there's a 50% chance of the game just giving me a loss for no reason.
This isn't an issue regarding internet connection or PC specs as both of those things are on the high end for me.
If anyone has some sort of fix I'd be extremely appreciative. Thank you.
Anyone else have this and got a fix for it? Only thing i can do is quit the game and restart..
I can also still hear the music playing. Just cant do anything and the screen is completely black.
I have the same issue on PC. 3 out of 4 times I try and load into a rivals or squad battles game once I ready up it'll go into a black screen and give me the loss. Very frustrating it isn't letting me play the game.

Constantly getting the black screen as the stadium cutscene happens in Rivals. Tried deleting the game, clearing cache and rebuilding database but the black screen still happens.
I tried changing kits, stadiums turning off cross play but nothing is working. It's been happening for the past week in Rivals/champs qualification.
Please can I get help
I can't even play one game. I've repaired the game, reinstalled it on the same disc, uninstalled it and installed it on a different disc... The same problem remains
A friend of mine, who also plays on PC, has never had any problems. Yesterday, after the update, he has the same problem as me: we can't play Rivals because we're stuck on the black screen listening the game music...

Anyone got a fix. I play on PS5
After reinstalling the game several times, I did the following and it worked, I can now play Rivals without any problems:
- I set all the graphics to Auto
- I ran the application as administrator
- Installed a game booster (Razer Cortex) 🤷♂️
I think it's something to do with the graphics. After a few attempts, I set the rendering back to High, since in Auto I always kept it at Low/Medium. Even with the rendering turned up, I've been able to play. I hope this information is useful to you.
