I can't evo the same player twice?

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Evo a player, buy that same base player you just evo'd and put him in a new one he fits the requirements for.
What happens when the bug occurs? I can't evo the same player in a different evo.
What should be happening instead? I should be able to evo whoever fits in the description no matter if I used the same player in a different evo.

I want to evo Kone using the new silver upgrade evo which would make this card better than a previous evo i did on him. Now the game is telling me that I can't evo his card since I've used it in another evo. Is this a glitch or something purposeful done by ea to avoid more evolution glitches.
