When I disable the transfers entirely,meaning not just first transfer window but during entire career mode, CPU still makes transfers. And lots of them.
From what I understand, the 'Disable Transfers' or 'Disable Transfer in the First Window' of Manager Career mode only has an effect on the user created club, not the entire database of clubs, in all leagues. The transfer option should be grayed out for the user, or in the past, users could sign players at the start of the career, however, those players would not join until January 1st. There is no option to stop all clubs from transferring players in and out for the duration of a career mode save (thirty years), or disabling all immediate transfers from CPU controlled clubs.
So basically u need to start with the window open unlike the previous games. Kinda stupid to change that always like not getting players move till jan but free agents was fine.
Personally, I always leave the first transfer window of a new career open, however, when conducting a 'realistic' save, I refrain from purchasing any new players, until the January transfer window. Generally, I start with a bottom-mid table club, and need to offload 'junk' players; under 70 rated who will never play a minute, and especially the faceless players who have not been scanned and entered into the database (OCD, never have any blank players in a career mode squad) to obtain enough transfer budget to acquire three five star youth scouts, and full allotment of expert assistant coaches. At this point of the gaming cycle, I am only experimenting with the new settings, configuring the manager face, etc. The first Title Update should be released between next Tuesday and Thursday, which contains hundreds of new face scans (hopefully), recent real transfers, and missing third kit options. Only then will I proceed to create a long-term Manager Career mode save.
I like play as lower league clubs or create one. Also play as my club I support. But not being able get free agents with that is pretty annoying. Hoping they just made a mistake and will patch it. Nothing annoys me more when u have first window open and all the big signings move about.
It wasn't like this on previous versions of the game. If this is the case, what is the difference between "Disable transfers first window", "Disable transfers for career" and "Transfer embargo"?
For the latter, can you set a number of windows?
Disappointing if it none of these options affect the CPU. At least on old versions the disable first window would stop all transfers globally.
It would be good to get some clarity from EA on what these features should be doing though.
I was expecting that this setting affects all clubs, but get disappointed when the season starts and all teams transferring players
I'd like to play the whole calendar (including cups and international tournaments) facing the real teams line up, but there is no option to do that ☹️
