I've noticed that disabling the first transfer window does work, but CPU can still sign free agents. I had the same issue with Depay and Rabiot, plus a few other higher rating players
A quick fix before you start a new career is to go onto edit teams, go to free agents and transfer all the higher rated players to a league that doesn't affect your league. For example, I'm in the premier league/champions league so i dumped them all on teams in the Saudi League.
This game is terrible. How do I see my squad hub in career mode like the other editions. That way I can see if one of my players has been approached by another team. It used to be under My Pro but no longer there in this 25 edition.
