yo man unsure if you're still awake/on these forums but the same thing just happened to me with applying a cosmetic evo to Ultimate Succession Kaka after doing the Classic 10 ++ evo. Just did some investigating and found this https://x.com/EASFCDirect/status/1865093953252659309 (seems to be just a visual bug the role pops up in the edit tactics screen and in game)
