Re: WAITING FOR OPPONENT, THEN AFTER COUPLE SECONDS, OPPONENT LEFT THE MATCH

I’m having the exact same issue and it’s really pissing me off. I’m having no problem getting into Rush matches, so I know it’s not my system, but I can’t earn any of the Rivals rewards because I can’t get connected to a match.

I’ve found people posting about it on YouTube and some folks offering supposed fixes but they don’t work. I’m sitting here right now as I type this message repeatedly trying to get a Rivals match and every time I get to the screen where it shows my ping rate is solid and I’m waiting for an opponent not to then get the same message “Opponent has left the match.”

its hard for me to believe that in the 25-30 attempts I’ve made to start a game in the last hour there was actually a live opponent on the other end of each one of these these failure messages. I think it’s much more likely that there never was an opponent and the whole matchmaking function is buggy. I’ve seen another thread in here from Sept/Oct 2024 and folks were complaining about “opponent couldn’t be found” messages. So it seems like this all may be part of the same of a bad matchmaking engine (OR too few players to create matches?).

One way or another it sure would be nice if EA would acknowledge us and act like they care about paying customers.

Ok, so I’m still only getting a Division Rival match about 1 in every 10 tries. The message has changed (now it says “The timer expired before players were ready.”), but the upshot is still the same—the matchmaking function is pretty lame. I’m attaching an image of the screen here which also shows that my connection is strong, so as far as I can tell it’s got nothing to do with me. The other odd thing is that after I click “OK” on the timer expired message it returns me to my squad view where I see a momentary message that a player has “entered the lobby.” Is this the same player I was supposed to be matched with?”

Can someone from EA please speak up and tell me what’s going on? I paid good money for this game and for the game pass to go with it and Rush games work fine, but the head-to-head matchmaking is just bad. I mean if there just aren’t enough players to make a match then just cop to it (or feed me a bot so I can at least progress to a level where I can find more real players), but this business of making me think I’ve got a game about to start only to feed me an error message sucks. And just because the message has changed from my last post doesn’t change the fact that the result is the same—I fail to get a Division Rivals match 10x more frequently than I get one.
