You can't approach to sign players with under 6 months left on their contract

I've been having the same issue, but what seems to work is simming to January 2nd (I haven't tried it in the summer window yet, maybe it goes for July 2nd as well). All the players I couldn't approach, are suddenly approachable. Still quite strange, as the players should be approachable as soon as their contract has 6 months left.
