Same on PS5. I have fired all scouts and hired one more to try fix the null issue, trying to hire more now brings up the screen to hire and the confirmation but does not hire the scout. The list then resets as if the scout was hired.
I play this save creating a team completely from Youth players so this appearing a couple of seasons in is not good. Shall keep this save and not play further until fixed.
Since the last FC25 update, the previous workaround does not work anymore. It seems now IMPOSSIBLE to scout youth players. EA please fix this issue asap.
The only thing that worked for me was firing the scout I had at that moment (He occupied the second slot). Then I hired a new scout for the first slot, sent him on a mission. At least I was able to see his first report and scout one youth player necessary for playing the tournament. But I guess that should not be the way to fix it
