Ban For Gifting Free Coins
To preface, this has not affected my account, but the accounts of 2 of my friends. They were both recently banned from the auction house indefinitely. They reason for the ban was that one of my friends has stopped playing the game and gave away his coins for free to the other. Now it makes sense that moving that many coins between accounts triggers a ban, but the problem lies in the fact that they can't dispute it.
Distributing coins for sale or from a farm account is against TOS, but nowhere in the TOS does it clearly state that you can't give away coins for free out of kindness. If this truly is against TOS, they did not know as it is not clear. They have been unable to talk with support to state their case and are remaining banned with no way back.
How can they contact someone that can talk through this with them?
Hi there, @gunflinttrl
Passing coins between accounts in this manner is strictly against the Terms of Service as stated in the EA User Agreement.
Unfortunately, ToS is not available to discuss this with. They perform their own through investigation to determine if any of the rules were broken. Up to 3 disputes can be submitted. When this happens, ToS will again investigate the account and either keep the ban in place or overturn if they found evidence that the ban was incorrectly given. If all 3 disputes have been used and ToS declined to reinstate the account, there is nothing else that can be done and the ban will need to remain in place.
