I was affected by the CFM outage on every one of my leagues. It effectively ruined that portion of the game.
Meanwhile, there was a limited time offer to get exclusive content on Madden 24, but only available if ordered by July 22,2023. So, I went ahead and purchased Madden 24 Deluxe on July 21,2023 to get the additional content. I was not exactly thrilled to pay full price after dealing with so many bugs in Madden 23. Also, I am not thrilled that EA has had other offers that have come out after that deadline, for example now you get a HOF player when pre-ordering. How about since I got in on the initial date, you take care of me and give me ALL of the exclusive content, in addition to the discount for being a loyal patron. The offer shouldn't become better the longer I wait. Where is the incentive to pre-order early?
Not long after I pre-ordered, I began to here that EA was offering a 50% discount off on the deluxe version. Since I already paid and pre-ordered the game, how do I go about and get my discounted refund back? I know some places don't give refunds, perhaps it could at least be offered back in content, like Madden Points? I hope EA makes this right, as I have stood by and not complained while they attempted to work through the issues.
The EA Rep said a Help Manager here should be able to fix this situation for me. I hope so.
Solved my own problem. The first EA rep gave me bad information; stating I needed to come to this forum and make a post. From there an account manager will eventually see it and be in touch on how to resolve the issue. I followed the instructions, however, it didn't sound right to me, so I reached back out in few hours. I was informed, EA only handles refund issues on PC games, never on console related content. All PlayStation and Xbox games transactions are handled by the respective console manufacture. In the in game menu of Madden 23 the discount appears. When viewed it cannot be purchased; it says already purchased.
So in my case, I reached out to PSN and explained I would like to get a refund on a game that had not yet been released. They were able to see my purchase history, verify the pre-order and quickly issue me a refund for the full amount. This triggered the reset on the Madden 23 menu allowing me to take advantage of the discount. Maybe the refund will post just as quickly.
Hopefully this information will help someone else. I would imagine the procedure would be very similar for Xbox.
As a follow up, the original EA rep should be fired for giving out bad information. Per the instruction I was given by the rep I was told to open a dispute with my credit card to get 50% of the money back. That was not at all true by any means, in fact PlayStation has effectively suspended my account due to a chargeback. Apparently if you dispute ANY charge on your account you will effectively have your account, and your console on suspension. That is right due to bad instructions I can not play any game on PlayStation until they decide to lift the suspension.
I am very upset with EA. They have ruined the Madden 24 experience. I wish I could just exchange the PS5 version for Xbox Series X version now. I would ask for a refund on the whole game, but since it is handled via PlayStation and not through EA or this message board, I am at their mercy. I am extremely disappointed in PlayStation. I have been a PS guy since the beginning of PlayStation, I have never felt so let down. They treated me like I was garbage on the phone, their customer service is second to none on needing a massive overhaul.
In conclusion, EA next time you offer 50% off of anything, do it on the front end, get your crap together and give out accurate and correct information and for the love of God, take responsibility when you mess up. I feel the least you can do to make this situation whole is allow me to play on Xbox while this thing hopefully gets sorted out with PlayStation. Which by the way I am told could take well over a week to undetermined amount of time to fix.
