Madden 24 CrossPlay Consequences

I’ve got a cross-play user (Xbox) ready to join our 9 member PS5 league, soon entering the 2026 season.

 

EA specifically says you can use cross-play for new and EXISTING franchises. But they also follow that up by saying they "strongly recommend" you start a new franchise to do it in case they disable the feature.

 

To enable it, I have to click an “activate cross-play” setting that cannot be undone.

 

I’m trying to research the consequences if they disable it. If it just kicks the Xbox player out of the league, so be it. But I don’t want the league to be deleted on us if they feel the need to remove all cross-play features.

 

Why would they mention that last part about starting new? You’d think they’d give you a better disclaimer and say your league could be permanently affected.

 

Any thoughts?

    @EA_Kent Any way you can offer insight? I'm just trying to determine if there's any chance our league will be permanently affected. We're now in the Wild Card round and so it would be the perfect time to get that Xbox user in. But my league is cautious and doesn't want me to bring them in unless we hear from someone it's relatively safe to experiment with. Thanks!

    @EA_Kent Just wanted to kindly ask again if there's any way to get feedback. We're about to start a new season tonight and would love to bring this Xbox in.
