So many positives, but also a ton of lies and an incomplete product.
1. Fantasy draft order - it has always been snake, not standard. What you need to do is allow us to fully set the draft order prior to the draft.
1a. There is no transaction log on next gen. This means a fantasy draft franchise has no way for us to track who gets taken when and where. This is inexcusable. I legitimately want my money back for this major of an inconvenience.
2. Injury prone prospects is a problem. It's not tuned right. There's maybe a handful every year. In Madden generated draft classes, almost everyone has a trash injury rating, to the point where you will question turning injuries off altogether. There's no such thing as a good draft prospect with an A injury rating. They always have D or F and at this point it's just comedically stupid.
3. As always, the offensive line gets no love. A K and a P can have their own training camp drill, but OL can't? Seriously?
4. Give us create a team and stadium already. It's pathetic Madden is the only sports gaming franchise without this in 2023.
5. Contract negotiation still has a way to go. Even allowing front/back loading or even distribution would be a step in the right direction, but even that isn't enough. We need the ability to set the amount for each year of the contract, incentivize stats and awards and availability per year, have "outs" in contracts, etc. Step up already.
There are plenty more things still needed this article doesn't address: correct positional terminology, compensatory picks, being able to set special teams depth charts, etc.
While M24 is a step in the right direction, I do want my money back for them releasing an incomplete and buggy game yet again. Can you imagine if the NFL had the NFL Draft and there was no ticker and no historical tracking of the draft results? That's what starting franchise mode with a fantasy draft is right now on next gen. Completely unacceptable.
