ok to EA_Aljo's credit he did respond to me and here is the conversation so maybe just maybe there is hope.

The lag issue is actually getting worse for me. The game freezes every time I get a new item now causing me to restart. I feel the end of old gen is near. EA, please, you owe it to all your old gen users (PS4 and Xbox One) to address this issue. You are losing valued customers every day now.
