Split Zone play action TE blocks need to be more effective

Currently, TEs come across the formation and literally block NO ONE. They just stand there in a blocking stance and pick no one up.

When in fact their primary responsibility is similar to their running play compliments, to secure the C-Gap vacated by the weak side tackle who has a down block assignment.

Example: LT blocks "down" to either help on the DT with the LG or, single blocks the WLB, while the TE who's coming across the formation IMPACT BLOCKS (that's important) the DE or weak side OLB.

Also, the stong side tackle needs to step out to block secure the edge with a more exaggerated kick step since the edge rusher (who doesn't know the TE is going across the formation) is taking a wider angle to the QB.

Plays like these are meant to be deceptive, like all play action pass plays. But they cannot be deceptive if their blocking scheme looks nothing like their running play compliments.

If there's some kind of limiting factor preventing this from being implemented, let us know as such.

But to this point, no one has even acknowledged it as a known issue. Despite what we all can see with our own eyes.
