Why do the madden generated rookies wear old equiptment?

I play franchise and it takes so much time going in and changing every players equipment in the draft class. I don’t understand why they’re all wearing old helmets, or massive shoulder pads, or untucked jersey sleeves. I know it’s all cosmetic but it makes me not want to play with those players, and like I said it’s super time consuming to change every player’s equipment. I think they should fix it so all of the Madden generated rookies come into the league, obviously still needing development and such but at least looking like they belong in this era of football. It would be a nice fix for franchise players
