Starting the game should prompt the player to update.

I am having this error too, but both of us are on the latest game version. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the entire game on both systems. You guys broke the game.

I've tried everything as well, hard reset, deleting my cache, reinstalled the whole game, nothing works and damn EA support is about worthless

Day 14 with this bug.
I’ve posted on this thread since the bug occurred on 10/15… nothing. It’s easy to see there has been ZERO info shared from EA.
Keep posting everybody. Let’s keep holding them accountable

@EA_Barry When can we expect a fix for this, there are hundreds if not thousands of people getting this error.

We are having the same issue. Both people have the game fully updated, we've trying restarting the game, xbox, clearing cache, clearing saved data, various different modes of searching. It is very obviously not an issue with the game being updated... I'm seeing this issue all over the web right now. Some are claiming the issue is related to gamesharing, but others are finding this issue is occurring despite both users owning the game themselves.

Hey all, I found the solution:
if you're gamesharing, log into madden on your own account. Then, while you're in the menus, log in with the account that purchased the game. It'll switch to their profile and do a "saved game sync". Then, switch back to your profile and you're set
