Madden '25 mysterious glitches

Can anyone tell me how to get this icon off my offensive/defensive player in Madden '25? I have had so many problems with this game I am just about ready to ask for a refund!!! I had Madden '22 and played 13 seasons in Franchise mode on it with a PS4 controller and a SCUF custom gaming controller for PC and never had any problems with anything using either controller. I bought Madden '25 recently and it's just been one problem after another. After a lot of research trying to figure out how to get this game to run with a PS5 controller and FINALLY getting that to work it worked flawlessly for 3 pre-season games and one regular season game in franchise mode and then started having problems again because the game started changing the default on the screen where to hit X saying you're ready to start the game. For some reason it started freezing there. After hours of research trying to fix this with no success I then noticed that on that screen it was automatically moving the controller icon in between the 2 teams on that screen to the CPU team and that was what was causing it to freeze so I just moved that controller icon over to my/user team and then selected start and low and behold it started the game right away instead of saying please wait until an error message was displayed. 

Now that I finally figured that out and started trying to progress with my season, I'm getting this icon around a random second player other than the one I have selected to be on regardless of whether I'm on offense or defense and the circle highlighting this second random player is red, white and blue (maybe it's different for different teams to match the team colors, but this is for the Cowboys) and it's not that big a deal on defense, but the player on defense will still run its coverage for zone or whatever that player is supposed to be doing on that particular play, but on offense it's a different story. For some reason on an offensive play it will only highlight receivers, the running for full back and not any other players. This again is random from play to play as far as which player it highlights, but the one it does will move exactly the same way your QB runs if it's on a pass play. If that is the receiver you wanted to pass to and expecting them to run the route that is depicted in the play it doesn't do it because of whatever it is. Instead, the receiver runs exactly in the same path respectively as the QB runs. The receiver will start off just standing there after the ball is snapped and then when you started to take your drop steps as the QB the receiver will start to run back like the QB. If you go right or left the receiver will do so as well. I have messed with the controller setting until I was about to go crazy trying to fix this, and tried everything in game to get this extra circle off of this player so they don't follow the QB on a pass play and I can't figure it out if it's an audible that you have to do with the highlighted player or some controller configuration in Steam, but I can't get it fixed. I even uninstalled the game and reinstalled it and it's still doing this. I researched online trying several different ways to describe this problem but have found nothing about it. Now it's also pausing with I use the right joystick on this controller when I am trying to move left or right if I accidentally press the right joystick down where you're then pressing a button. When this happens I have to hit the pause button to get it off of pause. When this happens, the controller is also not working right as hitting buttons moves the selector up and down and trying to hit the usual button to return to the game doesn't work. I again have to hit the pause button to get it back to the game. I don't understand why EA won't just develop their games to be fully compatible with PS5 controllers. I just went back to play Madden '22 to see if it was having any of these problems on the same controller settings I had the last time I had right before exiting Madden '25 and it worked flawlessly with NONE of these same problems. I have been playing Madden since '92 when it was on Sega Genisis and have always loved the game and up until all this happened with the '25 version I still did, but now I don't know if I'm ever going to buy another version of it. I have been wondering if having a Xbox controller would fix all these problems, but don't want to pay good money for another controller if I'm not 100% sure it would fix these issues. If ANYONE could help me with these problems I would be so grateful!!! I'm also submitting a help ticket through EA about these problems.
