EA Needs to Bring Owner Mode Back!

I’m honestly extremely disappointed and angry with EA over the decision to remove Owner Mode from Franchise.

One of the biggest reasons I enjoyed Franchise was being able to actually run the entire organization as an owner. I liked being able to hire and fire coaches, make decisions about the direction of the team, manage the organization, and feel like I was actually in control of the franchise.

Now EA has taken that away and basically forces me to play as a coach. I don’t want to play as a coach. I want the option to play as the owner and manage the team from that perspective. That was a huge part of what made Franchise Mode fun for me.

What makes this even more frustrating is that instead of keeping features that people actually enjoy and building on them, EA continues to remove things and then add a bunch of new features that revolve around the coach experience. I’m sure some people enjoy those additions, but that doesn’t mean EA should completely eliminate another way people enjoy playing Franchise.

This is the problem with EA’s approach. They keep taking things away and expecting people to accept it. We buy these games every year expecting the next version to be better, deeper, and more complete. Instead, we constantly see features removed, changed, or abandoned. It feels like the people making these decisions don’t understand why longtime Franchise players play the mode in the first place.

And honestly, it feels lazy and disrespectful to the people who spend their hard-earned money on these games. If you are going to charge full price for a new Madden every year, the least you can do is give players a quality product with the features they actually want.

Don’t take away features that were already in the game and then try to convince us that a bunch of different additions make up for it.

I want Owner Mode back. I want to be able to hire and fire coaches. I want to run my organization. I want choices beyond simply being the head coach. Give players options instead of taking options away.

EA needs to start listening to the people who actually play Franchise Mode. Stop removing features. Stop giving us less and expecting us to be grateful for it. Stop making decisions that push longtime players away from the mode.

At some point, people need to wake up and realize that continuing to buy these games every single year tells EA that this is acceptable. If we keep paying for a product that keeps removing features and disappointing players, why would EA have any reason to change?

People need to stop buying Madden until EA starts giving us the quality product we deserve.

We shouldn’t have to beg for features that were already in the game.

I love Madden, and that is exactly why this is so frustrating. I want Franchise Mode to be great. I want to spend hundreds of hours building a team, running an organization, hiring and firing coaches, making decisions, and actually feeling like I am the owner of a franchise.

EA, bring Owner Mode back. Stop taking features away from Franchise Mode and start giving players more control instead of less.
