EA needs to add a true Spectator/Broadcast mode for online franchises
Hey guys,
I’ve been thinking about this for a while and it’s honestly wild that we still don’t have a true spectator mode for online leagues. Right now, if you run a franchise and want to feature a game of the week or a playoff matchup, you basically have to make one of the two players stream their point of view on Twitch, YouTube, or Discord.
It works, but it completely ruins the immersion. We’re stuck watching someone else's camera angle, plus we have to see all their play-calling menus, audibles, and button prompts pop up before every snap. You can't just jump into a buddy's game and watch it like a real football broadcast.
If EA just let us join a live franchise game as an active spectator with zero impact on the gameplay, it would be a massive game changer. They could give the spectator access to the broadcast cameras, the all-22 angles, and instant replays, while stripping away all the UI clutter so it just shows the scorebug and the field.
Think about how many leagues would start running their own legit Monday Night Football broadcasts. You could have guys in your league sitting in a Discord call doing actual play-by-play and color commentary on Twitch or YouTube, making it feel like a real NFL presentation. Other games already lean so hard into community content like this. If Madden gave us the tools to broadcast our own leagues properly, it would serve as incredible free marketing for them and give so many people a fresh reason to buy the game just to join a realistic league.
Plus, it would be super helpful for commissioners who just want to hop into a live game and make sure people aren't cheesing or breaking league rules.
I feel like this would be huge for franchise immersion and bring a lot of players back who want that authentic league experience. Does anyone else think this needs to happen? If you agree, let's try to get this some traction so the devs actually see it.
