Madden 27 online gameplay (H2H) potential changes that can make a big impact
Dear EA Madden Team, I want to share feedback on Head-to-Head (H2H) mode heading into Madden 27, from the community that plays H2H all year and doesn’t touch MUT. First, thank you for adding the 1-30 PSN ranking display in Madden 26. That was a great addition and the H2H community noticed and appreciated it. That said, the biggest issue is the season reset. Every 30 days or so, our records and rankings get wiped, and there’s no way to go back and see past seasons. Countless hours of grinding just disappear with nothing to look back on. Honestly, I don’t understand the point of resetting so often if there’s no historical record to show for it. We’re asking you to stop erasing records every 30 days and instead let them build permanently, the way it used to work. If seasonal resets have to stay for ranking purposes, at minimum give us an archive so we can look back at past seasons’ records and rankings. Second, we’d love to see our opponent’s record and actual global ranking shown briefly on screen during the team comparison at the start of a game, similar to what you did with the PSN ranking in Madden 26. Even just a quick flash showing their win-loss and world rank would add a lot of context and hype before kickoff. Third, please bring an online playoff bracket to H2H, similar to what College Football 25, 26, and 27 already have. Since it’s proven to work across multiple years of CFB, we know it’s something that can be done, we just want to see it done in Madden too. After a set number of regular season games (say 10), players could qualify for an online playoff bracket that leads to the Super Bowl. It would give the mode a real sense of progression and reward, even for players who aren’t chasing a Top 100 spot. We can count how many Super Bowls we have just like how the CFB community is very proud of how many national titles they have. I don’t know how much attention a post like this needs to get in likes or comments to reach the right people, but I’ve been playing Madden since it first came out, and I know myself and a lot of others in this community would genuinely appreciate these changes, regardless of how this post performs. We don’t ask for much, but H2H is where a large part of your player base lives all year. These changes would go a long way toward making the mode feel competitive and worth the grind again. In 2011ish, former Jaguars owner Wayne Weaver asked to have dynamic attendance removed from the Madden games. It was unfortunate, because I and many other fans thought this was a great feature. Almost all other sports games feature this. An 0-10 team at home is not going to have the same attendance as an 8-2 team. Fans are going to leave a game if it’s a blowout. Smaller market teams are going to have a harder time filling seats. The FV games feature dynamic attendance, and I think it makes the game so much better. EA, if you see this, please consider it. Wayne Weaver no longer owns the team. The Jags haven’t had attendance problems since the early 2010s. (I know this, because I’m a jaguars fan). Adding in all these other great immersive features such as holdouts and player personalities is great, but without dynamic attendance, it’s hardly authentic. Please back me up guys and gals. I know Superstar KO is still in Madden 26, but it isn’t the same as it used to be. One of the best parts was being able to draft from NFL legends and other special player pools. That made every game feel different and gave the mode a lot more replay value. I’d love to see EA bring back: NFL Legends in Superstar KO. More unique player pools and themed events. Special abilities and overpowered lineups like previous Maddens. More regular updates to keep the mode fresh. Superstar KO has so much potential, and bringing back the legends and special content would make it one of the most fun modes in Madden again. I noticed last year in superstar when I played college in road to glory it should’ve been the year 2028 when I graduated and went to the NFL. But when I transferred my player to madden, it doesn’t save any of the players you played with in college and add them as draft picks in future years and it puts you in the 2025 NFL season instead of what should be the 2029 NFL season. It’s frustrating because it feels like the career is split in half. Please share if you agree
Madden 27 SMALL FEATURES WHAT MATTERS
If you're going to add generic faces in the Madden franchise, it needs to be over 2000 faces for realism, not seeing the same faces on 20 players. Madden Pro Bowl Lineup in of season- Show the players' bios and what team they play for. It's already sad we don't have a Pro Bowl we can play Show real trophies of players' awards in the offseason, a room or shelf or something, when Madden keeps track of each player's awards in their bio, not just words, In annual awards, give us the ability to click on a player to see the bio and ratings and show real trophy award images. NFL Records- add a player image, not just words. Some people don't know who these players are; it helps them identify great players of ALL-TIME..... new players! Let us click on their bio instead of leaving and going to find the player. League transactions are dull! Give us the option to click on their bio and ratings. Show the player rating and age League History season recap- show images of real trophies, show the player image. Since we have a weekly wrap-up, show a quick one for each Super Bowl NFL Standings- option to click on team to see depth chart, team stats 5-2 defense - add more plays, please. Offseason retired - show the player's ratings Offseason retired - allow players to be coaches Scouts- show images of the scouts; allow retired players to be scouts.Slow sim for Superstar mode
Maybe you want to feel truly immersed. Maybe you want to watch your defense play. Why is this not even an option? I haven't played the Madden 27 Beta, so I don't know if it's in. But seriously, why can't we have the option to CHOOSE slow sim for Superstar mode? Some people love the immersion, so allow this option. More options is never a bad thing. Maybe I don't want to watch a spreadsheet. Maybe I want to watch a football game when I'm not playing?
This Is the Most Excited I've Been for A New Madden in Almost A Decade
Don't get me wrong, I know all too well about EA dashing and waylaying hopes and dreams - LOL! However, at least now, all these defensive changes have me hoping that the game really is a chess match instead of a track meet. I am so tired of folks just scoring every play, running the same formations with the same trick adjustments that virtually guarantee a score, successfully converting on fourth down at a high rate, and defense just being on the field for decorative or obligatory purposes. I like all of the new defensive tools, strategies, adjustments, and lineups they talk about coming this year. I also like the way they have reorganized the pre-play adjustments to make them easier to access. Finally, I really like the custom adjustments. I hope both for playing against the CPU and for human vs. human games, the game becomes more thoughtful, difficult, and a strategic chess match and thus more fun to watch. Like real football, it shouldn't be that defenses are just powerless against plays even if they know it's coming. Like if I know this person is going to run a certain type of play and I put in the right defensive call, it should be a great chance to stop it. Then, if either of us gets it wrong, we should suffer the consequences. I hope it pans out. I know developers - especially EA - have promised better this or that in the past, then 2 weeks after launch online folks figured out all the exploits and we are right back to cheese vs. cheese. However, hope springs eternal :-) Plus, with 60fps on the Switch 2, this game can be a classic. Trust me, I know it's not perfect and I am not saying that it will be. However, it does seem like it could be awesome. Also, I really hope there are no microtransactions in offline mode. I just want to play the game in peace in my franchise and superstar modes. One minor change to Madden 27 that I’d like to see would be on the NFL Records page in Franchise. Every time a record is set I feel like it should display the team it was set on rather than the current team the player who set it plays for. Like if a player sets the record on the Packers, per say, and leaves the team in free agency I feel like it should still say the record was by the Packers instead of the new team the player is on.Madden 27 Online Franchise Co-op???
It's that time of the year to ask the same question I ask every year. Can my brother and I, each with his own copy of Madden 27, play an online franchise co-op [on the same team]? Not an offline franchise couch co-op through Playshare on PS5. A legitimate online co-op franchise mode, with 2 people on different consoles playing on the same team. The 81 OVR baseline for Chase Young in the Madden 27 beta is an absolute joke. The ratings adjusters are completely falling for a lazy media narrative instead of looking at the actual film and production numbers from last season.Take a look at the actual facts:Elite Efficiency: He missed 5 games but still racked up a career-high 10.0 sacks, 11 tackles for loss, and 49 total pressures in just 12 games. That is a 14-sack pace over a full season.Pro Football Focus Proof: He finished the year with an elite 86.3 pass-rush grade, ranking him among the top edge defenders in the entire NFL.The Run Defense Myth: The narrative that he can’t stop the run is completely false. His 11 tackles for loss prove he is consistently penetrating the backfield and blowing up plays. A 63.6 PFF run grade is completely assignment-sound, not a liability.Elite Pedigree: This is the No. 2 overall draft pick and a former Defensive Rookie of the Year in his physical prime. An 80 should be his absolute floor.Rating him an 81 treats a premier, blue-chip edge rusher like a generic backup.
