Would be fun, but EA's only concern is as follows: "How can we monetize it to steal even more money from players that already bought our game?"

Until they can monetize it in some form or another, I wouldn't hold my breath on it. 

That's why they removed Superstar KO because of the entire Madden player base that played co-op online, most would play SSKO so they could play with actual NFL rosters. Meanwhile only a tiny fraction of those co-op players played MUT Squads with I would assume ZERO overlap between the two modes. They know they can't steal more money from the SSKO player base, so they have to try to funnel them to Ultimate Bums.
