Madden 27 Feedback

Overall, this represents an upgrade from Madden 26, but there are some areas that could benefit from refinement.

1. Quarterbacks tend to throw straight-line passes instead of leading their receivers while on the run. One would expect some degree of lead, especially since they are moving, making it more challenging to throw accurately.

2. The RPO (Run Pass Option) feels somewhat slow; receivers should be able to turn up-field quickly rather than appearing stuck going east or west temporarily before advancing.

3. Momentum needs to be more apparent. For example, on straight-line throws, receivers often stop their routes and backtrack to catch the ball so quickly that defenders have little chance to react.

4. Offensive linemen occasionally fail to engage with defenders, resulting in free releases. This has happened even with highly rated linemen usually the interior lineman. Additionally, when adjusting the offensive line, selecting the Mike linebacker sometimes doesn’t stay assigned consistently. I would prefer the Mike to be positioned on one of the four defensive linemen rather than a linebacker playing coverage so double teams can be applied accordingly.

5. Please, for the sake of realism, eliminate auto-break behaviors that cause players to go backwards during a tackle. When breaking a tackle, players should be attempting to move forward to gain yards, not losing yards by getting stuck in catch animations. This issue often results in unnecessary 2-3 yard sometimes 5-6 yard losses or at least have forward progress mark them at the catch spot if they do go down right after the break-tackle animation.

6. Consider more opportunities for challenges on plays such as forward pass penalties, and perhaps reinstating the chain measurement for close calls on third or fourth downs.

Speed differences are somewhat noticeable, but I would like to better replicate plays like the DK Metcalf chasedown interception, which currently feels unlikely given the current speeds.

Aside from these points, the game is very solid. I appreciate the new defensive adjustments; the overall defensive gameplay is well-designed. You now need to stay in your lanes, and it's no longer possible to take a linebacker out of position and then quickly recover to stop the play most of the time.

Sidenote: Cowboys seems underrated which I may be bias but I would put Dak at a 87 or 88 not a 84.
