Can no longer play games in Connected Franchise?

I was playing the connected franchise player mode and simmed the offseason since my team did not make it to the postseason. After simming, it now only says view league schedule and does not allow for me to play my player in the games. Going to the Actions tab only allows for me to retire my player or advance week. What happened and why can't I play? Thanks for the help!
