Cannot Re-sign Players with Expiring Contracts

Product: Madden NFL 20

Summarize your bug Players with expiring contracts cannot be re-signed. I lost 20 players off my team because I could not sign a single one of them to a contract. Game shows not enough money to sign players even after 20 players leave the team.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Simulate a season and try to sign players with an expiring contract to a new contract.
What happens when the bug occurs? Team eventually dwindles away because no players can be re-signed or added to the roster.
What do you expect to see? I want to be able to sign my players to new contracts

Salary cap space does not change in franchise mode. I played an entire season and was unable to re-sign a single player to a new contract. I had 20 players leave my team and the game says I still dont have enough money available to sign anyone. I cannot play any further because I only have 40 players on my roster, but I cant get any new players. The game wont let me play with a 40 person roster.

    @Pol_AccoDM I think it might be someone's specific salary because after year 2 it seems normal. But I just cant believe if these contracts are accurate that the Eagles are unable to sign 1 single player in the offseason.

    So i just played through my first season, and I was unable to negotiate a new contract for ANY my players that had expiring contracts. The game showed I was maxed out on salary space. So I waited until the end of the season, and still no luck. I lost 20 players (20 FRICKIN PLAYERS) because the game said I didnt have the money to sign a single one of them. Even after I lost those 20 players I was unable to sign anyone in free agency, and now the game wont let me continue because I only have a 40 player roster. But i cant add anyone new.

    The game does not get rid of expiring contract money to make room in your salary cap to re sign players.

    Edit: I was playing as the Eagles, cannot say if this happens to any other teams.

    Hey guys, I finished my first season in franchise and I had 20 players leave because I was unable to sign any of them to a new contract. Salary screen showed over 20 million in cap space, but the player screen to negotiate wouldnt let me make a reasonable offer. A 40 million deal over 4 years should be a cap hit of 10 million, but I was unable to offer more than 3 or 4 million a year. So with 20 players leaving, and no options to add more players the game will not let me progress with such a small roster. Anyone else have any issues here?

    @Insta_Buzz I have similar problem. When I sign/resign/trade players my cap space on salaries window change correctly, but when I go to re-sign window, my cap space it's different, it's much more lower. It's seem like game it's only adding contracts, but when you cut players for exemple, on re-sign window cap space it's same.

    That's hard to swallow what happened to your team, seems like it could be an extremely rare situation that you experienced though. We want to make sure it's not going to continue trending, which team were you using for your Franchise? 

    Is there no way to stretch them for longer term contracts or sign for 1 year?

    @EA_Blueberry I was using chiefs. I can sign players, until I have cap space, but glitch it’s making my cap space lower. In salary menu I have for example 30M. When I go to sign player it’s way less.

    @EA_BlueberryWell sorry its hard for you to believe Blueberry, but swallow it you will. I was playing as the Eagles. And no, I could not sign a single player that had an expiring contract. Every offer I made left me negative cap space. I couldnt offer enough to get anyone to stay. I tried stretching every contract to minimize cap hit, but nothing worked. Every single player with an expiring contract in the first season was lost to free agency. Start a season as the eagles and sim it to week 6 or 7 and try to re sign players.

    Did you sim to some point in the season as well?

    @EA_BlueberryI did not. I played every game, didnt sim a single one. I suggested a sim so that you can get to a point in the season with a few players to re-sign.
