Cannot use custom roster in franchise mode

I cannot upload a custom roster and use it in Franchise mode. I download a community roster and tired to begin a new Franchise save, and the only options for my roster is the Preseason roster or the Active roster. I have no option to select current custom roster. I have already tried to re-install the game and that has fixed nothing. The roster I intend to use is loaded when I try to begin my franchise. Is there any way to upload a custom roster to my Franchise?
