Can't turn off auto-save or load manual saves in offline CFM

This is ridiculous. Auto-save kicks on every time you complete an action making everything permanent and irreversible. Offer your best player a contract and he rejects it? Tough luck for you- he'll hit the open market.

So to get around it I created a manual save point, but guess what? That file won't load for some unknown reason. When I go to the manage files screen and try to load it, it only gives me the option to delete the file.

Why? Who in their right mind would think this is a good idea?

Offline CFM is the only reason I buy Madden games- I get a kick out of managing a team in coach mode for 10+ years. If I don't have the option to back out and load my last saved game when something catastrophic happens to my team, there's zero incentive for me to play. Is it a glitch that I can't load my saved game?Is there a way to turn auto-save off? I don't want to go through the trouble of trying to get a refund.

I play on the PS4, by the way.
