Yea I just started my account yesturday. Bought a few packs to get a few decent players and I'm getting pitted against players with 97s and 98s. Whatever system EA might use... is deffinatly not working and needs to be fixed. Maybe in madden 50? Na, prolly not. :-( H2H seasons in amateur rank vs those types of teams? I see some Match Cheating / Manipulation by those players to get to lower ranks and destroy the lower teams. Almost positive that is against the ToS. Just report them all and buy yourself 30 days (while they are banned) to work up in the power rankings.
IN AMATEUR RANK
My top 3: 89 89 89
Top 3 of opponents:
Game 1: 97 97 98
Game 2: 97 97 97
Game 3: 96 97 97
Game 4: 97 97 97 (quit while he was beating me 17 - 0)
Game 5: 98 98 98 aaaaaand I'm done

Did you play Madden last year or the year before? Your skill rating can carry over so that is why you'll be matched up against players of higher OVR at this point in the season. We're also 4+ months in from launch so those playing H2H MUT online are likely to have 90+ OVR teams by now if your skill level is above a certain threshold.- 4 years ago
@EA_Blueberry I think you are either missing the point, or intentionally trying to divert the topic.
Sure, people who played from the beginning of the launch might have 90+ ovr team and that's perfectly normal. But what people are complaining, is that people who just bought game, shouldn't be matched with those people who have been played it for 4 months.
How would you even expect a true display of skill when the other team was way better than you in terms of ovr ratings?
All the explanations you provided, (different time of the day, people playing longer ... etc.), Those are not justifiable reasons why EA cannot improve the matchmaking process better. Those are just excuses on EA's laziness or lame attitude to admit that there is a big problem.
Similar topic has been discussed in this forum multiple times and yet instead of flagging this down to the team behind you are just trying to provide excuses and shift the blame to the players ("oh you only play at the time when all pro who doesn't work or go to school in the afternoon? Your own problem not mine", "oh you bought the game late in the year where everyone has built a way better team? Your problem not mine" ) .
Look if you are not up for the job, just say it and we will go find someone other ways to get ourselves heard. At least Admins from mut.gg was way more friendly and eager to help with the player. No wonder their forum get much more useful info than this place.

I get what you're saying because when I try to play MUT now (I don't play it that often like I used to), I am matched up against super high OVR teams where it makes it nearly impossible to win. I fully understand the logic in how games should be more balanced in matchmaking. I wouldn't understand the complexity that goes into matchmaking. I've had these chats on these forums in the last few years and I don't mind having them again. What you're requesting is either OVR plays a factor or X amount of game time played. If a new player came to the game the matchmaking system would have to find someone else online with roughly the same amount of time played. There might be a limited amount of players that meet that criteria, so the search would ultimately expand. Do you expand it by OVR then? I would assume that would be logical because you want two teams evenly matched if both players aren't super new to the game. Do you think a player that has been playing MUT since the beginning could exploit this by adding a bunch of bronze players to their team, so they can be matched up against lesser experienced players?I don't find the matchmaking efforts "lazy" at all as many game companies use ELO matchmaking. If the system is going off skill rating the player will be evenly matched up against opponents if they continue to level up their MUT team. If I was dedicated to MUT at the beginning of the year by grinding solos, challenges, and Weekend League my team OVR wouldn't be an issue because I would have accrued enough losses to be put in a player pool with others of similar skill level and team OVR. Online is competitive and Madden is competitive. We'll share these type of experiences newer players go through with the team if anything can be done in the future, but to be frank the honest answer is to not play online H2H if the MUT OVR team is not high enough yet when there are many challenges and Solo Battles available to help level up the team. Otherwise the team is looking to provide handicaps to a competitive matchmaking ladder when there are alternatives to leveling up your team to make it a fair playing field.

You just want someone like myself with an 85 OVR team to get matched against someone with a 93OvR team so I go buy and pay to get on that level that’s so dumb. It’s Christmas which means people are getting the game as a gift or so on and so fourth get I’m getting matched against people that have been playing it since it came out I literally just got the game and get beat 55 to 0 every time now. Stupid matchmaking

@PTizzle937 @That’s cause all the players still playing MUT (other than Draft) have paid for their teams.
