Changing teams as head coach in franchise

Can anyone tell me how to transfer to a different team as a head coach in franchise mode? I’ve found several reddit posts saying if you demand release in the playoffs you will be forced to retire and the only way to get offers from other teams is to be fired by your current team. From what I’ve seen this is a big that has been around for several years. Can anyone provide some insight on this? Thanks in advance!
