Child EA account cannot start Madden 21 on PS4

Unfortunately, this is the only solution. My son is 12 and football is life. It annoys the crap out of me that we have to jump through these hoops. Like you said, "I am the parent." Put the options in game for Christs sake, don't make the error message completely irrelavent to the actual problem. That is just terrible communication to consumers. 

Same problem with my 12 year old. Hours on the phone and chat. EA support had me disconnect the 12 year olds account and reconnect as a work around. Didn't work and he lost all of his Madden 20 MUT points and progress as a result and the problem still is not resolved. Total BS - unacceptable.

The only solution is to create a new adult account through family manager. Unfortunately, he or she will lose any progress as it is a new account. I mean this isn't Grand Theft Auto for Christ's sake. It's a football game. The only access they have to anything inappropriate would be through chat while going head to head. Simple solution, disable it in the settings. The error message saying you have to sign into the PlayStation network to basically sign into EA is NOT the problem. It is an age restriction issue. Never again will I create a minor account. There are so many stupid hoops to jump through like this that it is more trouble than it is worth.

Has anyone found a real solution for this? I just looked at my sons EA account and it says my birthday and that hes an adult? not sure where they are getting the child account thing from 

I think it’s based on the child’s age on their PlayStation/console account. I called EA support and they said right now the only solution is to let them play on an existing or new adult account. It’s ridiculous. Isn’t the point of these age restrictions to let the parent decide what’s best? Not the game company? It’s particularly annoying since my kids had zero problems with playing other Madden games, but now they can’t play this one. 

Is sony able to help by changing the birthdate of an account? I haven’t been able to get through to anyone because of the holidays 

Same issue for my son. I've tried contacting EA twice now and both contacts ended with the same result. Children are not permitted to sign-in and access any online features on Madden '21. What changed from Madden '20 to Madden '21 and why? I would like to hear an explanation from EA. Has anyone seen one anywhere? It essentially makes purchasing the new game (which we already did) useless. My son enjoys using the Ultimate Team feature. He can no longer do that. He is 10. It appears the only options are to let him continue playing the '20 version (which is his choice as of today) or to create a new user account for him with an age over 13 but then lose all of his progress. So, my son will still be playing Madden '20 in 2023. That doesn't sound wise.
