Copy of Madden 17 looks like Madden 15

I just bought a copy of the game from Gamestop for my PS3 and i realized that a lot of the gameplay and look of the game is similar to Madden 15. The scouting system is not the 3 trait unlock system for example, and many of the screens look very different from normal copies of Madden 17. I went and tried to see if there were update to the game itself and said none were found so I'm confused what to do next.
