Alright... I'll try to keep this simple.
Block Shedding (BSH) rates how likely a defensive player is likely to avoid or fight off a block. Elite players have higher ratings in this area. Think of this as the real life equivalent of a player's ability to extend their arms to engage and control a blocker until they toss the blocker aside.
Finesse Move (FMV) rates a defender's moves requiring quickness and speed to defeat blocks and how effective they are. Elite defenders have higher ratings in this area. Think of this as the real life equivalent of a player's ability to spin off a block or get around the corner on a pass rush.
Power Move (PMV) rates a defender's moves requiring strength to defeat blocks and how effective they are. Elite defenders have higher ratings in this area. Think of this as the real life ability to bull rush, collapse a pocket, or push a blocker around.
Together, along with Hit Power (POW), Strength (STR), Agility (AGI), Speed (SPD), and Acceleration (ACC) - [and maybe many others] these ratings combine to produce a a baseline for how a player can be expected to perform against a blocker who has a base profile using other numbers related to how well they can block. If the discrepancy between the baseline for a defender and a blocker is large, one of the two will dominate on a majority of plays in a game (but not always). If the discrepancy is small, you will see a more even matchup.
Hope this helps,
