So I just got the free demo for Madden 20, and it’s asking me for an EA access subscription. Do i really need this to play the game? And do I need the subscription for the normal game too?
Nope still doesn’t work. Doesn’t change to free or anything.

Madden 20 is currently in The Vault for EA Access. If you were to sign up for either a monthly or yearly membership, you'll have access to the full game while your membership is active.
Player were reporting that the price wasn't changing to free when going through checkout after selecting "Buy" from the Xbox/PlayStation store, we're raising these reports to the team to investigate on why that occurred. We've seen players bypass that by going to the store via the console though.
Community ManagerWe've raised the confusion around how to navigate to a free download of the game to the proper teams responsible for this, however it was free to download if you were an Xbox Live Gold or PlayStation Plus member regardless of whether you had an EA Access membership or not. I'm sorry you were frustrated by this experience. I'm not aware of any plans for future promotions like this one, but I was responding to another thread in our EA Madden forums where others raised this up to us. A player was able to redeem a code for a full copy of Madden 20 from our recent giveaways.
