How do we download the patch for today?

The game is telling me I have to download the latest madden 18 patch in order to use its features. There is no option to download it. I'm playing on the PS4 and the game doesn't give me the option to download it.
Delete some stuff to free up storage. Then the download notification should pop up
I have this problem and it's the 3rd game I've installed.
- 192.0 GB used out of 860.4.
I deleted the version I had initially installed. I then restarted the PS4 (with the disc still in) and then re-installed. almost completed and then failed. Whatever this is, it's definitely not limited to a storage issue.
