Face of the franchise offline

I started to play Face of the Franchise and I played until I got drafted. The high school/college part was quite boring and I was happy to play in the Nfl after some time. I switched to the classic franchise mode and played one game. Today I wanted to continue playing but suddenly I have to buy a playstation plus membership in order to be able to continue my face of the franchise. I don't need a membership and it's really frustrating that I've played through the boring part of the story without even knowing that I'll need to pay for it later on. 

Is there a way to fix this?

    @elbacko23 Face of the Franchise is considered an online service, thus in order to continue you will need an active membership.

    @EA_BlueberryThanks for the quick answer! I've realized that by now but I don't get it why it's possible to play the whole high school/college story offline and suddenly it turns into an online mode. Doesn't make sense! And it generally doesn't make sense that a part of this mode is an online mode.

    Could someone please let me know why I can sign into my ea account on my phone but not in the game I have the correct details and everything
