before starting when setting up the game options, choose coach mode on. This will let the game play qb if the controls are not touched after the snap.
before doing practice, go to options, franchise settings, league settings, change skill level to rookie, this will make it where the catch is made between 80 and 100%. all you have to do is hike it.
as for the rest of the game, after practice i up the skill level again. As long as you take control after the snap the game is normal.

game is unplayable like this. It does not matter if your playing a QB,RB or WR when in franchise mode and you take your player to practice you get off a few plays before the camera goes to overview and just turns. If you wait it goes back to the field showing the route and ball but no players. This is a major bug and would of been nice if EA would of at least tried to fix it. Year is done now and I am sure EA has no plans to address the problem.
