Friends will show up in xbox menu but not in madden head to head or franchise. They will not show up at all just an empty list. Can't join their session from xbox menu either.

@ayntwi360dtg it should work to play together across gens/xbox versions if both of you start the game on your devices in the same version. at least I've read this in the thread I linked below.>>> Are you launching the Gen4 version of Madden NFL 21 from your Series X? You have to do that to play your friends who are still on previous gen consoles.There is an option for both on your console. Hey I downloaded Madden 21 on my PS5, I went to play an in ranked online head to head with a friend but my friend list shows up as empty. I tried uninstalling the game and reinstalling it but it’s still doing the same thing. I can play online against a random but I can’t play a friend in an unranked game. Do anyone know what can I do to help fix this?

@NCdeputyDOG Are you able to add them to an Xbox party and then invite them to a game that way?

No it does not work, but I can play head 2 head just not against friends.

Hi EA_Joz I have the same exact problem only I'm playing on xbox series X and my friends are playing on xbox one. Please help.
