Today I witnessed team A fumble the football which was immediately kicked downfield 9 yards by team B. The ball went out of bounds without being picked up. The ball was retained by team A as it should have been. However it was spotted where it went out of bounds instead of at the point of fumble as it should have been.
Community ManagerDo you have a recorded clip of this? Based off the NFL rules if the player that was supposed to hold onto the ball lost control and it bounced out of bounds, it's going to place the ball where that player last had possession of it. If the ball was never picked up by another player on the team, it sounds like this is working by design per the NFL rules.
