Apparently, according to EA every current NFL player fumbles the ball at the slightest touch by another player... I love playing as a QB in franchise and having five fumbles in a game all by non controlled players.

I have to hold the RB (button) anytime a defensive player is close. It stops fumbling but you can't play well like that. I was hoping it was because my team is only an 82 and when it gets higher, the better players won't fumble as much.

@EA_BlueberryI'm experiencing an EXTREMELY HIGH number of fumbles when I run with Cam Newton. Virtually everytime he is contacted by a defender regardless of the type of tackle the defender uses or whether they are an X-Factor or not. I'm fumbling at about an 85-90% clip whenever I don't slide, whether I'm holding RB or not. NOBODY FUMBLES THAT FREQUENTLY (and still has a job in the NFL). I read from one of the EA community managers (either here or at the EA Madden forums) that they QB fumble rate was turned up higher to balance scrambling QBs. But coughing the ball up everytime a QB gets touched is far from what I call balanced, especially since most quarterbacks are more prone to fumble when they are in the pocket trying to pass. Later

@tsquareweb72 RB doesn’t do anything. I hold it on every catch. It’s DDA. If the game wants you to fumble. You’re going to fumble. It just sucks because you as the player have zero control over it. If it happens in the 4th while you’re on a game wining drive, or up by 20. As far as people talking about QB’s, a QB shouldn’t fumble simply because he’s tackled. If a play breaks down, and I’m able to scramble for a gain. I shouldn’t be punished (with a fumble) forced to take a sack, throw a int or throw it away. What if it’s 4th down? This game is broken. @caeserfranko RB actually does work, as long as the QB is NOT the ball carrier (and beyond the line of scrimmage) in Madden NFL 20. However, QB fumbles beyond the line of scrimmage have been revised for Madden 21. They will be linked to a QB's stamina...Of course, it would be better if they fumbles were linked to contact with the ball, the arm the ball is in, the button the defense uses to tackle, the intensity of the hit, or a player's CAR rating... ANYTHING but what we had in Madden 20.

Really? I have a 99 Calvin Johnson, a golden ticket Bo and a golden ticket Julio. They all fumble a lot while I hold RB after a catch or while simply running (and Bo has 99 carry). Conservative, hold RB, not juking, it doesn’t matter. It seems to happen even more when I play lesser opponents, like the game is trying to keep bums in the game...The fact that you’re say RB works when you know it absolutely doesn’t, is very odd to me.

@kierynhigh My league has a big problem with fumbles too. 4,5,6 user fumbles a game. Non qb

playing mut I was in the game before my superbowl and I fumbled 3 times. once on my first 3 drives. obviously I lost cause there really wasn't anything I could do. that along with the disconnect issues in mut. its unplaybale

Were these fumbles caused by a defensive player that has an X-Factor/Superstar rating, hit stick, or the offensive player trying to do a skill move?

It's really tough to gauge this unless we get some video clips so we can pinpoint what circumstances it's happening under or whether it's due to a user trying to get "too fancy" with their skill moves.

A majority of the fumbles our caused when the user is not initiating the move stick and is simply running forward. It has not matter if the defensive player has xfactor or not and mostly happens when the X Factor is not activated because of a hit stick. Many in my league say that the game feels like NFL blitz the amount of hits sticks the computer uses.
Even if this user is trying to do something fancy and they get hit stick, we shouldn’t have 4 to 5 fumbles a game.

It has nothing to do with circumstances. I haven’t played a single game of madden 20 where I haven’t seen a fumble yet. CPU hit stick USER hit stick or strip, while I’m juking while I’m not juking. It doesn’t matter. Fumbles are a problem. And these hit stick animations are ridiculous. A QB shouldn’t have the same hit stick animation as a safety.

Unfortunately it’s not your team. I have 90 ovr Marcus Allen and it’s still happening.

We've seen feedback on an increased frequency of fumbles, however you do make a great point, @tsquareweb72. Holding RB "protects the ball." Do you think protecting the ball should be something players should consider using more often, instead of always using a skill more or hit stick? Personally, I feel like protecting the ball wasn't worth using in past Madden titles.
